They found out that 6 out of 10 African American douched in the previous year in comparison to 4 out of 10 Latina women. The studies went on to reveal that the African American women were more likely to douche than their counterparts. They also went on to report that they learnt this form of art from their mothers. Most of the ladies who douched were of the opinion that it was needed for their good hygiene. The only problem that you are likely to encounter with douching is that it goes on to disturb the balance of good along with bad bacteria in the vagina.
Now the question is what do you need to do to clean your vagina? You can wash the outside of it with warm water when you bathe, and the best mechanism would be to clean it yourself with the help of mucus. You need to take note of the fact that a clean vagina will not smell like a rose garden. You should seek the help of a doctor or a nurse, if you notice a thick vaginal discharge with an odor burning. This could be in the form of swelling or redness around your vagina.
